Australia selector Greg Chappell says not playing spinner in first Ashes Test would be risky

Greg Chappell, Australia’s first full-time selector, has flagged the inclusion of a spinner for the first Ashes Test at the Gabba from November 25.

In an interview before launching a remarkable collection of Ashes memorabilia at the National Sports Museum at the MCG, Chappell noted: “I’ve experienced four pacemen, generally from the wrong end, and I have a strong feeling that four can’t do much more than three.”
