Australia can effectively wrap up the first Test with a solid batting performance on day two, according to Herald Sun journalist Jon Anderson.

Australia will head into day two with their tails up after Peter Siddle ripped through England’s middle order to finish with career-best figure of 6-54 and restrict the tourists to 260.

Speaking on’s The Last Word, Anderson said Australia could move into a winning position on Friday if they perform with the bat.

“I’ll go as far as to say that if an Australian batman can score a hundred tomorrow, they’ll win the Test match,” Anderson said after stumps on day one.
