Jonathan Trott admits England’s top order will be focused on making big first innings runs when the second Ashes Test gets underway in Adelaide on Thursday morning.

Trott made his second century in two matches against Australia when he helped the tourists fight back from a first-innings deficit of 221 to claim a draw in the opening Test at Brisbane.

The Warwickshire right-hander was the third man to reach three figures in England’s mammoth total of 517-1 and shared in a record stand of 329 with Alastair Cook.
