Harris may edge out Hilfenhaus

By definition it was not a bowl-off because one of the two candidates for Australia’s last pace-bowling slot failed to roll the arm over yesterday. Nevertheless, Australian captain Ricky Ponting seemed to be favouring the idle one of the two, Ryan Harris, as the player best equipped to help earn Australia an Ashes series lead at the Adelaide Oval.

Once the axing of Mitchell Johnson was confirmed yesterday and Ponting intimated fellow left-armer Doug Bollinger would be the replacement, the captain was pressed about what each the right-arm swing bowlers, Harris and incumbent Ben Hilfenhaus, had in their favour for selection for the Test starting today against England.
