World must look to Adelaide Test: official

Cricket’s top administrator believes the game must create more events like the Adelaide Test match and would like financial powerhouse India to set a better example.

The issue of Test cricket‘s future is never more clearly at hand than on the subcontinent, where the obvious love for the game has been suffocated in part by a preponderance of limited overs matches and a heavily politicised schedule.

Historic Test match venues like Kolkata and Chennai have been largely overlooked in recent times while the likes of Nagpur and Chandigarh – home to two of the Indian board’s most senior office bearers – have hosted numerous Test matches in front of paltry crowds.
