Clint McKay pushes his claims for an Ashes opportunity as Victoria and England play out draw at MCG

England’s cricketers maintained their unbeaten record on tour despite a batting collapse in a drawn three-day game against Victoria at the MCG.

Set 311 to win on Sunday, England slumped to 6-149 before reaching 6-211 at stumps with Matt Prior unbeaten on 102.

Test opener Andrew Strauss went in at No.8 and the skipper was 22 not out when play was called off with 15 overs remaining.

Fiery quick Jayde Herrick was taken out of Victoria’s attack after bowling two full tosses above waist-height in consecutive overs in the post-lunch session.

Clint McKay led the bowling with 4-68 from 17 overs.
