Tremlett is the renaissance man

Tremlett celebrates taking Michael Clarkes wicket in Perth.

Tremlett’s deserved haul, after a three-year absence, was a welcome return as England dismissed Ricky Ponting’s side for 268 on the opening day of the third Test.

The renaissance of the six feet seven inch Tremlett, a giant, if not yet among men then certainly of them, was well timed – not just to coincide with the fast, bouncy Waca pitch, but to give England a much-needed cutting edge when the rest of the bowling attack had an off day.
